Start with a few colors you love wearing, then let every new piece earn its place by working with at least three others.

Building a capsule wardrobe around your palette

Pick a base you can repeat

A capsule wardrobe works because its pieces talk to each other. Choose two or three base colors that suit you and that you reach for without thinking. These carry the outfit, so they should be the easiest colors in your closet to wear.

A small, repeatable base makes getting dressed faster.

Add accents with intent

Accents are where your palette gets personal. Pick one or two colors that feel exciting, and keep them to smaller pieces such as a scarf, a top or a bag. If a new item does not pair with at least three things you already own, leave it on the rack.

Every piece should work with at least three others.
